    Service Consultant Assessment Program™

    Overview

    The Service Consultant Assessment Program (SCAP) is a video-based, computer-scored simulation that measures the key skills needed for success as an automotive service consultant. SCAP shows a variety of on-the-job situations similar to those faced by service consultants on a typical day. These situations include interacting with customers, interpreting and administering warranty policies, resolving problems, documenting vehicle problems, and preparing work orders. As applicants observe the different situations, they answer questions regarding how they would deal with each situation if they were actually on the job. Through this process, applicants have the opportunity to demonstrate job-related skills and abilities. This skills-based approach is the most accurate and reliable predictor of future job performance. In addition, the process helps applicants build realistic expectations about the job.

    SCAP alleviates many of the administrative duties normally associated with testing. The simulation simplifies the administrative process by leading applicants through each step of the testing process, including a job preview, instructions, practice opportunity, and assessment period. The simulation takes about 70 minutes to complete. Following the simulation, responses are computer scored onsite, giving you immediate access to assessment results. These results provide a prediction of each applicant's potential for success as well as valuable feedback on skill strengths and developmental needs.
